What are Smart Folders ?
Starting with version 4, Speed Download brings Smart Folders to your favorite download manager.
Smart Folders contain files grouped together based on search criteria that you define instead of their physical location. For example, you may want to create a smart folder that contains files that you have downloaded in the past week, and that are over MB in size. Speed Download lets you do that quickly and easily.
Smart Folders fundamentally change the way you organize your stuff because now a file can literally be in two folders (or many) at once without duplicating or moving the underlying file.
Like Smart Playlists in iTunes, Smart Folders automatically update in real time when you download or receive new files with Speed Download.
Speed Download gives you powerful Smart Folder criteria to choose from, and creating one is as easy as saving a search in the Finder.
Smart Folders help keep your stuff nicely sorted and easy to find.
When you install Speed Download 4 for the first time, it already has a predefined set of Smart Folders created for your convenience. You can edit or remove them if you like.
