RECEIVED FILES
The 'Received Files' section of Speed Download is the central location where you can see all incoming files from other Speed Download users.
You can even manually add files from anywhere on your hard disk to this folder and share them with anyone you like. It's very easy, after adding a file to the 'Received Files' folder, right click (control-click)
on 'Received Files' in the Speed Download main window, and select 'Refresh listing'. To remove a file, simply delete from within Speed Download.
Right click (control click) on any incoming file and you have the ability to stop the transfer as well as other options:
- Remove Received File: Once the file has been transferred completely, you may remove it if you like.
- Connect to Host: Conveniently connect to the same machine you are receiving from (assuming you have permission to do so) and do some file sharing.
- Reveal in Finder: will automatically show you where that file is on your hard disk.
- Open with : will present you with a list of applications from you Hard Disk that you may choose to open this particular file with.
- View Options: You can customize your columns by selecting by selection from a variety of categories made available to you. (See screenshot below).
The columns are resizable and you may sort the list by any of the columns or reposition them anywhere you like.
Some important things to note about security settings in for the Received Files folder:
- Guest users: when connected to your SD, these users can only see files at the root of the Received Files folder, as well as files that other Guest users sent. They cannot see
files that other registered user accounts sent.
- Registered user accounts: are accounts that you create for certain users in the File Sharing section of the preferences.
When connected to your SD, these users can see files at the root of the Received Files folder, files that other Guest
users sent, as well as files they have sent. They cannot see files that other registered user accounts sent.
All file transfers are auto-resuming. Never worry about dropped or interrupted connections.
