Getting started

The first thing you will notice when you launch Speed Download 5 is that it prompts you whether you would like to use SD in Simple or Advanced mode.

Simple mode: Activates only the download manager related features and hides all the other features from sight.

Advanced mode: Activates all SD 5 features.

You can easily toggle between Simple and Advanced mode by selecting it from the ‘Speed Download’ menu. We designed this in response to some of our users requests preferring a minimalist interface when not using all the other features that SD has to offer.

As you can see from the screenshots below, the SD 5 main window is more intuitive and even more customizable and we’ve introduced a stunning new minimized mode as you will see further below.
