{one, two, three} : create a url with each of the comma delimited alternatives.
[1-100] numerical range
[001-100] numerical range with leading zeros
[a-z]: alpha range
This can be used to easily download a multi-segment file or a list of files, thus typing http://www.example.com/reports/[2000-2001]/financial/q[1-4][a-c].{pdf,doc} as the URL and adding it to the download will download all .doc and .pdf files from both the 2000 and 2001 folders, regardless of the combination of number and letter that follows the letter q in the filename.
THE FOLLOWING FEATURES HAVE BEEN IMPROVED AND/OR UPDATED IN VERSION 5 :
- Yazsoft Intelligent download technology Speed Download uses an innovative approach to downloading files. In addition to using a segmented downloads mechanism to ensure the fastest possible download rates, Speed Download uses incremental opening of connections in order to download a file. Right before starting a download, Speed Download calculates what kind of server it is downloading from and starts off by opening 1 connection to it (just like your browser). If it sees that the server can handle more, then it will open all the remaining connections until the file transfer is complete. This innovative approach by Yazsoft makes Speed Download the most compatible and best performing download manager out there.
- Full browser cookie support Download from Apple, .Mac, and any other servers that use cookies to enable or authenticate downloading. Cookie support takes Speed Download compatibility with online servers to a whole new level. No more frustrations with .php files or files that won’t download properly.
- Sensitive Server technology This Yazsoft, and Speed Download exclusive feature allows you set servers to which Speed Download will only open 1 connection during a download (just like your browser). This is mostly used when connecting to older or slower online servers that don’t handle multiple connections very well.
- Set separate simultaneous downloads limits for different servers.
- Built-in iTunes integration Speed Download can directly import all downloaded music directly into iTunes. You can customize what the Speed Download playlist is called, as well as what music file types you would like SD to import into iTunes.
MUCH MORE:
- Complete FlashGot support for FireFox/Mozilla users: FlashGot is a free Mozilla/Firefox extension, meant to handle single and massive (”all” and “selection”) downloads with several external Download Managers such as Speed Download.
- Full Growl support: add eye candy to Speed Download with the free and extremely popular Growl utility.
- Full Applescript support.
- TONS of under the hood tweaks.
